Information Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Head of IT, the Information Manager will be responsible for managing the company's data, primarily in Microsoft 365, and will be the subject matter expert on information management and governance.
You will take the lead on defining the governance standards and structure of the company's data, while working in collaboration with the wider IT and business teams to ensure effective use of the systems. This role is key to both Cero’s day-to-day productivity and information security programmes.
Main responsibilities
- Work with the wider project teams to define consistent project folder structures, file naming conventions and versioning.
- Become the primary contact for creation of sites, access approvals and resolving document management queries.
- Work with the Head of IT to define and manage information governance risk, to ensure it is understood and managed.
- Develop, document, and implement data management procedures.
- Periodically audit information systems, to ensure adherence with various controls, such as access control, naming conventions etc
- Improve data discovery across platforms.
- Work with the Head of IT to implement a Microsoft Copilot preparation plan.
- Identify opportunities for automation.
- Identify areas of improvement in the company's data management processes.
What will you need to succeed in the role?
Essential Skills
- Significant experience with SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
- Experience implementing and maintaining document management systems.
- Experience leading and implementing change.
- Able to collaborate with the wider project teams to define and maintain standards and working practices.
- Experience handling data migrations between systems.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within an asset management, energy or Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) company.
- Experience with data governance tools, such as Microsoft Purview or similar, to implement controls such as data discovery and classification, protection policies and monitoring.
- Experience automating workflows.
- Experience with Smartsheet.
