Finance IT Systems Manager
About the role
The Finance IT Systems Manager is a key position responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of all financial IT systems within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of both finance and information technology to ensure seamless integration between financial processes and technological solutions. The Finance IT Systems Manager works closely with finance teams, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to streamline financial operations, enhance data accuracy, and drive efficiency through the effective utilization of technology.
Cero uses Sage X3 as the main ERP, has recently implemented FIS Integrity Treasury Management System and will shortly be implementing a Financial Close and Consolidation Tool.
Main responsibilities
Governance of Finance IT Landscape
- Lead the development and implementation of the Finance IT infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives, scalability and the application of effective architecture standards.
System Development and Implementation
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of financial IT systems, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scopes, and establish timelines for system implementations.
- Oversee the testing and validation of financial IT systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and security.
System Maintenance and Support
- Monitor the performance of financial IT systems, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and optimize system efficiency.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to finance teams and end-users, addressing system-related queries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to improve functionality and meet evolving business needs.
Data Management and Integrity
- Develop and implement data management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of financial data within IT systems.
- Establish data governance frameworks and standards for financial information, including data classification, retention, and access controls.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within financial IT systems, implementing appropriate controls and mitigation strategies to safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.
- Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with finance teams, IT professionals, and external vendors to assess business needs, prioritise system enhancements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between finance and IT departments, facilitating communication, resolving conflicts, and promoting a collaborative working environment.
Training and Documentation
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops to educate finance teams and end-users on the use of financial IT systems, best practices, and security protocols.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system manuals, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure system accessibility.
What will you need to succeed in the role?
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial systems management, with a strong understanding of finance principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial software applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials, Hyperion, Sage X3, OneStream) and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, network security, and data privacy principles, with experience in implementing and maintaining IT controls.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus around IT initiatives.
